The Nordic Gerontological Federation (NGF) was founded 1974 as an
umbrella organization for the gerontological and geriatric
organizations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The main
purpose of NGF is to support and encourage research, developmental work
and education within gerontology and geriatrics. This is fulfilled
through the organizing of biannual Nordic gerontological congresses,
through
news and information distribution and through other initiatives. Read

Since 1973, biannual congresses have been arranged within NGF with a rotating schedule between the Nordic countries. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, next congress will take place in Iceland 2021 under the theme ´The Age of Ageing´. Below you can see the history of the Nordic congresses.
